NATIONAL HEALTH CARE DECISIONS WEEK October 22-28, 2000
Health Care Proxy ??? Living Will ???
Durable Power of Attorney ???
“Do Not Resuscitate” Order ??? Organ Donation ???
Why Are They Important ??? …
… and What If I Don't Have Them ???
The Bar Association of Nassau County and the New York Citizens' Committee on Health Care Decisions have joined together to offer free community presentations on end-of-life care and medical decision-making from the legal, medical and social perspectives.
Although the American Bar Association has designated October 22nd through 28th as “National Health Care Decisions Week,” we will make this program available at any other time of the year you may prefer.
In a joint presentation, an attorney and a health care advocate will explain in clear, uncomplicated language the function of advance directives such as durable powers of attorney, health care proxies, living wills, “do not resuscitate” orders and organ and tissue donation.
This comprehensive presentation will provide the practical information needed for making informed decisions regarding the vital and often emotionally charged issues of end-of-life care, medical decisions and organ donation. This presentation is available at any time convenient for you.
This free program is presented as a public service to the community by the Bar Association of Nassau County and the New York Citizens' Committee on Health Care Decisions.
